"It is nice to part of the personal development of students"

Marlies de Waard works with young adults between the age of 18 and 23, who either dropped out or are often absent from school. In her role, she visits these students in their home environment, and together with them, and sometimes their family, social workers or other relevant institutions they try to understand the problem and find solutions together. As she emphasizes, bringing the students back to school is not the only option, the goal is rather to find a solution that fits their personal needs and circumstances the most.
